Why Coated Carbon Steel Vs Copper?

Alt-Line utilizes a scientifically enhanced Aluminum/Zinc-based coating for
superior resistance against environmental and weather-induced corrosion. In
extensive tests conducted in coastal regions with high salt concentrations in
the air, refrigeration systems employing this coating demonstrated
significantly improved corrosion resistance, benefiting HVAC installers and
owners in such areas.

The addition of a specially formulated Nickel coating on both inner and outer
tube surfaces, prior to the outer coating, greatly enhances protection,
particularly in high humidity environments.

By employing carefully specified low carbon steel and a proprietary
manufacturing process, Alt-Line achieves mechanical characteristics similar to
traditional copper lines. However, Alt-Line offers significantly higher burst
pressures and improved tolerance to vibration and temperature fluctuations
when compared to copper.
